Liwei Fang, PhD
I am a postdoc in the Alonzo lab. I am currently studying the S. aureus Agr quorum sensing system and the role of a recently identified peptidase, MroQ, in the processing and export of the quorum sensing peptide, AIP. I obtained my Master’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston where I studied Regulatory affairs for drugs, biologics, and medical devices. I then obtained my PhD from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My PhD research focused on discovering anti-virulence compounds directed against the Type 3 secretion system of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and studying its mechanisms of inhibition.
